GCA - Youth Club's hold on second position on the A grade Grampians Cricket Association ladder is under threat following a batting collapse against Tatyoon in day one of their two day encounter.
Tatyoon bowler Tim McDougall justified his side's decision to send the visitors in to bat first, ripping through the Clubbers top order batsmen.
McDougall removed opener Steve Le Gassick in the first over before inflicting more pain with Matt Delzotto (6 runs) and Tim Seymour (4) both falling victim to the paceman, who finished with a sparkling 4/26 off his 15 overs.
Playing his first A grade match for the season, Julian Sambell then took over from McDougall as the danger man.
The leg spinner was the chief destroyer through the middle and lower order and finished with 5/50, to end the Clubbers innings on 112.
Zac Marrow (22) and Jamie Solyom (24) put up some resistance but were unable to break through a tight Tatyoon bowling attack.
In reply, Tatyoon are currently sitting at 5/85 with Ash Maconachie (14) and Tim McDougall (2) at the crease.
Steve Le Gassick leads the Clubbers bowling with 2/24.
Swifts/Great Western veterans Rick Peters and Gary Ranton along with rising star Sam Cocks, led the way against Buangor.
Sam Cocks fell just short of posting a half century on 47 runs while Travis Nicholson continued his solid form, chipping in with 30 runs.
Although the heroes of the afternoon were Rick Peters and Gary Ranton, who put on a strong 95 run partnership.
Ranton made 43 runs before falling victim to Buangor's Jack Ganley while Peters went on to reach 67.
Lower order batsmen Jamie Bach (8) and Tom McCord (2) failed to have an impact, with the Combine finishing the afternoon with 9/255.
Buangor's Harry Ganley, Jack Ganley and Phillip Brady claimed two wickets each, while Shaun Allen, Jim Fraser and Jarred McGuiness picked up one.
Pomonal got off to a mixed start in day one of their two day clash with St Andrews.
The Tigers took the risk of sending Saints in to bat first and it seemed like it was the right choice early on.
Saints opening batsmen Matt North (0) and Tom Schwab (8) failed to fire and they were soon followed by Scott Dadswell.
Sitting at 3/55, Saints appeared to be on shaky ground however Jacob Bates and James Laidlaw saved the day.
Bates reached his half century but soon found himself back in the shed, while Laidlaw made a defiant 95 runs to help Saints post a first innings score of 211.
Al McKay was best of the Pomonal bowlers with 5/47.
Pomonal have made a strong start and will resume at 1/99 with Nick Maddison (35) and David Robinson (30) set to lead the way.
