GREAT WESTERN - Grampians Carriage Drivers will be back in action this weekend after a short break over the holidays.
Some drivers will be camping tonight as they prepare for a relaxing weekend.
Tomorrow morning will be a lot of fun and excitement, because members will set off on a Navigational Drive, once described as a pleasure drive with questions.
Members will then be at the Great Western Hotel tomorrow night, to listen to a talk from Mr Peter Harkness on Cone Driving.
Cone Driving is one of the phases in a carriage driving event (CDE). There are rules to be learned and little tricks that can get you eliminated.
On Sunday, Peter will build a cones course, so everyone can put into practice everything they learned the night before.
The Grampians Carriage Drivers have potential new members bringing their ponies along and also members who came along at the start and learnt to harness and drive.
These members are planning on bringing their new pony and carriage for the first time this weekend to take part in the rally.
The club is growing by the month, so members of the public are invited to come along to the Great Western Racecourse Reserve (behind Seppelts) tomorrow and Sunday and enjoy the rally.
