STC - Stawell Tennis Club's Friday night competition makes a much anticipated return tonight following a lengthy Christmas holiday break.
Competition had been fierce prior to the spell and a good crowd had been turning out each week to support their teams.
With just four matches to go before finals, things will certainly be heating up on the court.
Tonight sees Stawell Toyota take on Stawell Joinery, Farrer's Tyrepower are up against Stawell Gold Mines while Cassidy Painting clash with Trackside Bar and Bistro.
Stawell Toyota will be desperately searching for their first win of the season, however things couldn't get much tougher for the side who take on an unbeaten Stawell Joinery outfit.
Joel Freeland will be hoping his troops can regroup after the break and if Mark Stainsby, Bob Freeland and Jesse Hannett can fire for the men and Jaiden Bach/Claire Hodgetts can get the job done in the women's, Stawell Toyota could be in with a chance.
Although Joinery's top guns Howard Dunn, Sean Dwyer and Nick Seeary, along with Suzie Blakey and Kath Wiecek, will be doing everything in their power to prevent Toyota from causing an upset win this round.
Farrer's Tyrepower are out to prove they aren't just making up the numbers, starting with a victory against Stawell Gold Mines tonight.
Farrer's boast a number of top players with Shane Freeland and Nathan Baker leading the way for the men while it will be a battle in the women's with Kim Hutton, Jemma Clarkson and Kerry Troeth up against Megs Mitchell, Tracey Dark and Kate Reading.
It should be an intriguing contest, particularly in the lower ranks with Charlie Reading and Sean Ellis set to tackle rising tennis stars Jake Stainsby and Michael Hackwill.
Cassidy Painting had been showing signs of potential prior to the break but must maintain consistency ahead of the finals series.
A win against Trackside Bar and Bistro will certainly be a good start to their finals campaign.
Cassidy's top tier players, Matt Freeland and Brett Stewart have a fight on their hands against Andrew Dunn and Jacob Hamilton, while current women's club champion Jade Cross will be out to dominate with support from Kaye Ellis and Abby Kaczysnki.
Trackside's lower ranked players need to step up and must bring their best game to the court.
