STAWELL - Taking home Stawell's Young Citizen of the Year award for 2013 was Cody Sanderson, who has been rewarded for his various roles within the community.
Cody is a valued member of the Stawell Apex Club and has volunteered at every Australia Day awards ceremony, Easter carnival, Stawell Show gate and Christmas carols since he joined six years ago.
Cody was also involved in the Lenzone and Freeza youth community groups when they were running in Stawell.
He helped out with music events and played in a band.
His passion for music saw him complete a school based music program which allowed him to capably assist with sound and lighting for school productions and end of year concerts for Stawell Primary School and Stawell Secondary College.
Cody is always willing to help those in need - whether this is through volunteering with Apex or going out of his way for others.
Cody is extremely busy, working at Stawell Bi-rite, Stawell Harness Racing Club and helping out with the family business.
However, he finds time to be a dedicated husband and doting father to his 18 month old daughter Maya.
