Ted Gaffney crowned Citizen of the Year 

STAWELL - Ted Gaffney is a well-deserved winner of the 2013 Stawell Citizen of the Year award.

Ted generously dedicates much of his time to performing various roles within a wide variety of clubs and organisations and has made a significant contribution to his community.

He has been secretary of the Navarre Sports Association, Lexton Football League and Landsborough Bowling Club, where he has also played.

Ted was a member of the Barkly Fire Brigade and Hall Committee.

He has held every position in the Stawell Rotary Club, as well as District 9780 Governor.

In addition to all these roles, Ted is a board member of the Central Grampians Local Learning and Employment Network where he currently serves as chair.

He has also been involved with Eventide Homes.

Ted has a great zest for life and community work and his contribution to fellow Northern Grampians Shire residents and the younger generation has been described as outstanding.

His leadership skills and involvement in the Stawell Rotary Club has seen Ted work tirelessly to encourage and mentor young people to gain opportunities.

Ted initiated the Bushfire Rotary Response and an alternative to 'Schoolies Week' which will directly benefit Stawell students and third world communities.
