GREAT WESTERN - Great Western trainer Annette Marshall will saddle up Flooding Rain at tomorrow's Great Western Cup meeting in the Green Eggs Scramble 0 - 68 Handicap.
Annette has described Flooding Rain as a very tall and athletic gelding and said he is ticking over nicely in preparation for tomorrow's race.
"He's nice and fit," she said.
Flooding Rain will be having his first start in Victoria after formerly being trained in New South Wales by Kris Lees.
The gelding has only had five starts for the one win at Quirindi in July last year.
Annette is unsure of how Flooding Rain will perform but she is quietly confident that he will run and honest race.
Annette bought the horse through Australian Bloodstock Thoroughbred agent Luke Morrell who recommended the horse to her because of his caring nature and quiet temperament.
Flooding Rain is by Power Of Destiny, a stallion who was a moderately performed racehorse but has thrown out some nice horses during his brief time at stud.
The four year old is raced by Annette, her husband Chris as well as her mother.
Annette is hoping he can win some prizemoney as she would like to donate the majority of it to the McGrath Foundation and other various charities.
Like many trainers in the Western District, Annette is sending Flooding Rain not just for the races but also to support her hometown cup day and enjoy the day of racing and festivities.
