REGION - The odds have certainly fallen in favour of two couples in the Wimmera, including one from Stawell, who shared the first division prize in Tattslotto on Saturday night.
The two couples will share in more than $1.3 million in prize money.
A farming couple has become the latest to find out they received a share in the estimated $4 million division one prize pool from last Saturday night's Tattslotto draw.
It comes just days after a Stawell couple received the news they had won $683,517.91 in Tattslotto on the weekend.
The winning wife from the farming couple told a Tattslotto official she was delighted with the windfall.
"We're planning on taking a holiday with this prize money," she said.
"All I have to do now is convince my husband that we should treat ourselves to business class travel this time.
"We'll get some financial advice and put away most of the money as a nest egg for the future."
The winning 50-game ticket was purchased online.
The couple from Stawell purchased their winning 12-game marked entry from Harris Newsagency in Ararat.
John Harris of Harris Tattslotto in Barkly Street, said it is a few years since they last sold a first division prize worth so much.
"We have sold several over a period of time, but probably not for the last three or four years," he said.
Mr Harris said there hadn't been any greater interest than usual in the normal Saturday draw.
"To have two big winners so close together, from the same area is a real surprise," he said.
"We are very excited about selling a winning ticket."
Zoe Knobel of Tattersalls said the wins just highlight how much Tattslotto is a random game of chance.
"We released a report last year that showed some of the hot spots, this area wasn't one of them," she said.
"The only reason there is such a high concentration of wins in Melbourne is due to there being more people and therefore more players."
The statistics released in December showed Melbourne and Werribee as the areas where the most division one tickets were sold in 2012.
Tattslotto spokesperson Elissa Lewis said that although the areas had sold several division one winning tickets it didn't mean that a ticket purchased in those areas had more chance of winning.
"People often ask where the most winning tickets have been sold and visit the area to buy a ticket in the hope of purchasing a winner," she said.
"When it comes down to it, every number has an equal chance of being drawn, no matter where you buy your ticket, but you have to be in it to win it."
Both couples who will now collect $683,517.91 in prize money each don't wish to be identified.
