STAWELL - A couple from Stawell has collected more than half a million dollars in Saturday night's Tattslotto draw.
The couple, who purchased their winning ticket from an Ararat Newsagency, received confirmation of the win yesterday.
The first division prize was worth $683,517.91.
The winning wife told a Tattersalls official she had checked the numbers over the weekend and had been waiting for a call to confirm she wasn't dreaming.
"We've discussed what we'll do with this money and my husband and I would like to travel overseas, then invest a large part of it for our retirement," she said.
"This money comes at a great time as each of us have only been putting money towards our super for 10-15 years.
"We will think about retiring in the not-too-distant future, so this is a real boost to our superannuation fund."
The winning 12-game marked entry was purchased from Harris Newsagency in Ararat.
The couple are one of six winners who claimed a first division share of TattsLotto's estimated $4 million division one prize pool on the weekend.
Another two division one prizes went to winning entries in Victoria.
*One of the two division one prizes went to a farming couple in the Wimmera region.
The winning 50-game ticket was purchased online from Tatts.com.
