STAWELL - It was the young combinations who dominated the Stawell Tennis Club's mixed championship series on Saturday.
In what was one of the most open A grade championship series for many years, youngsters Blair Hart amd Madi Cross emerged the championship winners.
Little separated the combinations in the preliminary rounds and it was Shane Freeland and Marianne Mitchell who went through undefeated.
Shane and Marianne did win out 6-5 against Blair and Madi in the preliminary rounds, but the youngsters thrived on the pressure in the final and they won out 6-4 and 6-3 to take the 2007 title.
In B grade Andy Leithhead and Jaiden Bach dominated and won the title in three sets, while the brother and sister combination of Harry and Abby Steggall won the C grade title in straight sets.
