Positions set ahead of tennis finals

10 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
STC - With the ladder positions quite firmly set and only two rounds of tennis to go in the Saturday senior competition, it would be impractical to presume the results would be any different to the last time these teams met each other.

Perry's have had a flawless season with in-form players, Shane Field, Dave Kaczynski and Kaye Ellis all providing quality tennis and dominance over their counterparts.

However, Stawell Retravision have shown glimpses of being more than capable of defeating their rivals, but the big question being asked, is who will it take to be the game changer?

Shane Armer has been in fine form all year for the men, while Sadie Slorach has shown why she was elevated up the grading list, improving her game each week and taking on the veterans of the game.

At the end of the day it will be an entire team effort for one of these sides to come away victors.

The match could be a preview of what's to come in the Grand Final in just three weeks time, unless of course, Sportspower get their way.

Not forgetting that it has been a real see-saw between Retravision and Sportspower all season.

With Sportspower refusing to step down, they will be calling for solid performances from their players to cement victory and proceed into the end of the year with an indisputable effort.

It'll be a chance for the likes of Jayden Rickard, Liam Scott and Zac Illig to step up and give it their all, while Marnie Bibby and Carly Murphy hope to continue their lustrous performances of matches gone by.

Not forgetting that Hydraulics came back from the Christmas break all fired up, knocking off second placed Retravision a fortnight ago, so certainly anything is possible.

If the Hydraulics women of Liz Hall, Kate Harney and Emily Davis can continue their form they might just pull off a sensational win to dampen Sportspower's hopes of a grand final berth.

Rising players like Jake Stainsby and international import, Jacob Nillsn will have big games ahead of them, but if they bring the right frame of mind with them, it may just be enough to take the honours.

The duty team is Hydraulics.
