Competing in 160 individual races throughout the afternoon, Stingrays battled against 14 other clubs from around the district.

Many local swimmers found themselves among the placings, with plenty of personal best times being shattered in a great day for Stawell.

In the end the home team finished with nine first placings and an overall second place in the team count, again settling for second best to Horsham.

The young Stingrays were thrilled to see their coach take to the water during the 50 metres freestyle event for 30+ years. Michael Pyke placed fifth for the event.

Thanks to the great family spirit of the Stawell Swimming Club and the many helpers, the day ran very smoothly and was a great success.

So far this season Stawell has finished second at every meet, but with plenty of talent in the pool a win is sure to be coming very soon.
