WNA - Stawell A grade netballers are slowly returning to the track, with training sessions being held.
Coach of the 2011 team, Jemma Clarkson, said Warriors 'didn't do much training before Christmas.'
"Because the season finished late, the girls were a bit tired. We've had a few Wednesday night sessions, and we're looking to start pre-season when school goes back," Clarkson said.
"Everyone is keen to return and knock off Warrack for the flag," she said.
Stawell had a successful 2011 season, finishing fourth on the ladder and reaching the A grade grand final against Warrack Eagles.
Scores were level for the majority of the match, with the Eagles pulling ahead in the last seven minutes to snatch a four goal (49-45) victory and record back-to-back premierships.
It was also a year that saw Warriors break a long standing hoodoo against arch rivals Ararat, defeating the highly rated side for the first time in ten years.
Warriors are yet to announce coaches although Director of Netball, Roseanne Baird, said there are a number of applications being considered at the moment, with a meeting to be held later on this month.
Netball tryouts will be held in early February.
