Only seven days prior the four year old accounted for the open-class males in one of Victoria's most challenging tests, the SEW Eurodrive Enduro and backed it up with victory in the $25,000 event for her age group.

Driver Kerryn Manning said it was a pleasant surprise to see the daughter of Davids Pass taking it all before her, in what will most likely be her final season before being retired to the stud.

``She's an amazing horse who just makes me smile. She's never the best in the race, but she has the right attitude and always tries hard,'' Kerryn said.

``She had a good patch there about a month or so ago, but then after that I thought she was probably at her mark.''

After sitting three wide into the first turn of the 2100 metre event, it wasn't until 1500 metres to go that Sophie Pass found a spot outside the leader.

Manning continued to sit there during a 30.3-second first quarter before letting Sophie Pass grab the lead from $1.90 favourite Kept For Pleasure, heading out of the home straight the final time.

This was the last time her opponents saw her as she strolled her way across the finish line for an impressive victory in 1:57.2.

``Once she gets rolling she's very hard to catch, and that's what happened here,'' Manning said.

The Silver Chalice win was Sophie Pass' 12th of the season, taking her career tally to 20 wins from 63 starts for $158,000 in stakes.
