STAWELL - Cousins, Mal and Kaylene Cameron, showed great fighting spirit in the Grange Golf Club's mixed canadian event on Sunday.
Winning the scratch event on the day, Mal and Kaylene lashed out with a two under par 69 to easily take top billing in a dominating display.
A further 10 shots behind in the Grange ladies sponsored event was husband and wife combination Peter and Jane Delley, grabbing runners up honours with a 79 off the stick.
Bernie Walsh and Robyn Iles whacked their way to a handicap win, with a 75-12-63 to win from Geoff and Gail Gehan (husband/wife), who fell short of the leaders after scoring 83-13-69.
The Gehan team escaped in a countback from their daughter and grandson, Debbie Oosterhuis and Rikki McIntosh (95-25-69).
The men's stroke event had Ted Hall land success with an 81 in the scratch, while Bill Hughes Jnr was the handicap victor with a nett 62.
Nearest the pin winners for the day were Rikki McIntosh on the men's 14th and Robyn Iles on the ladies second.
Saturday's stroke event was highlighted not only by Mal Elliott's victory, but also for his eagle three on the par five sixth hole.
Elliott hit 150 metres with a seven iron and watched on as his shot landed in the hole, helping him to a score of 80-15-65.
Trailing Elliott was runner up Robert Bullen (72-3-69), who snuck into second place ahead of Bill Fitzell with a nett 70.
Bullen hit back on the day with a win in the putting competition, landing 20 putts.

The Mal Elliott, Jane and Peter Delley sponsored stableford event on Monday was a clear win in the ladies, with Josie Illig and her 39 points taking control to win from Jane Delley (36 points).
The men's division was however a close affair, with a countback needed to separate eventual winner Geoff Gehan and his runner up John Hosking, after both finished with 39 points.
Gehan secured another win with a nearest the pin triumph on the men's second, while Amy Robson won the honour on the ladies 14th.
