WFL - After a heartbreaking eight point loss to Minyip Murtoa and a draw with Dimboola, Stawell Westlift Warriors will look to open their Wimmera Football League account with victory against the Horsham Saints tomorrow.
While their opposition may stand undefeated after four rounds, Warriors are confident of an upset.
Coach Ben Williamson said his team would travel to Coughlin Park with high hopes.
"As I said to the boys after the game last week, we are a realistic chance of winning all of our matches in the next five weeks," he said.
"Obviously we won't be at full strength and we will be making a few changes to the side but I'm confident we can come away with a win."
After a flawless start to the 2011 season, Saints will be determined to continue their winning streak.
The team is coming off a commanding 54 point victory over Nhill at Davis Park after strong performances from danger players Phil Butsch and Bernie Ward.
Joint coach Heath Watson has also been in damaging form, along with Jai Pumphrey and Matt Combe.
The Saints look set for a top five finish, but if the Warriors can perform competitively over four quarters, they are more than capable of matching it with their opposition.
Stawell was bolstered last week by the return of Shane Field and Brent Tuckey who will add important height and experience to the line-up.
With Dale Hurley missing his second consecutive match with a hamstring injury, the team will look to Justin Eales to continue his consistent start to the season.
Young backman Luke Hendy will also sit the game out with hamstring troubles, paving the way for fellow youngsters to make their mark.
Jesse Eckel and Jackson Dark have been stepping up to the plate each week and will again have important roles to play if Stawell is to challenge the Saints.
It was simple errors that cost the Warriors victory six days ago, errors they will be determined to rectify tomorrow.
Their delivery into the forward line and general skill level both came under the microscope, costing them at least three scoring opportunities in the final quarter.
Williamson said his charges knew what was expected against the powerful Saints unit.
"Our accountability and our decision-making is definitely something we need to work on from last week," he said.
"The Saints discipline and run has been their main asset over the last few years and that won't be any different this year.
