Swifts/Great Western will be looking to turn the odds in their favour when they step out against Tatyoon tomorrow in the Grampians Cricket Association.
For some reason Tatyoon appears to hold an edge over the Combine and it is an impressive record at that.
Tatty has triumphed over Swifts/Great Western in two of the past three A grade grand finals and no doubt this leaves a bitter taste for the Combine.
Revenge can be sweet and this is what Swifts/Great Western will be looking for tomorrow.
This may not be a grand final, but it is a chance for Swifts Great Western to show they are in business once again in season 2008/2009.
Swifts/Great Western could not have wished for a better lead up to this clash with their batsmen piling on a massive score last week against Aradale.
Three of the Combine's top order batsmen Bill Norton, Mick Sullivan and Travis Nicholson all cracked impressive centuries.
That's bad news for the Tatyoon bowling attack, as they struggled in the clash against Youth Club last round and consequently lost.
Tatty may have went into that clash with players missing, but will be eager to have these players return tomorrow.
A big loss so far this season for Tatty has been that of paceman Tim McDougall. Recovering from knee surgery, McDougall did roll down seven overs against Youth Club last week, but Tatty will be looking for him to regain his venom tomorrow.
With Norton, Sullivan, Nicholson, Gary Ranton, Craig Marrow and Brendan Pateman all capable of big scores, Tatty will need all the firepower they can muster.
The recall of batsmen Andrew Ward and Richard Tucker and spinner Matt Harris will be vital for Tatty if they are to have any chance at all of hitting back after the Youth Club loss.
Pomonal has hit the winning list, it has taken three rounds and tomorrow they face another danger game when they clash with a confident Youth Club.
The match was scheduled for the turf at Central Park, but has been transferred to North Park and the hard wicket may assist Pomonal's plight.
After two mediocre performances, Pomonal did produce with the bat last week, but it was against Rhymney/Moyston, who so far this season have struggled in A grade.
Clayton Mackley, Brendan Rudolph, Russell Armstrong and Tim O'Connor were in the runs and they will need to repeat the effort tomorrow against Youth Club.
If Pomonal can get away with a big score against the Youth Club bowlers they are in with a winning chance.
With the bat Youth Club have shown they are capable of chasing down scores.
St Andrews have had an exceptional start to the new season and this winning run looks set to continue when they clash with Aradale tomorrow.
Aradale got away with a win in round one, but since it has been all downhill, particularly last week when their bowling attack was hammered by Swifts/Great Western
The Saints have delivered with both the bat and the ball this season and with the added incentive of a possible win against their arch rivals will be keen to make it four from four.
Navarre will be looking for win number two when they clash with Rhymney/Moyston tomorrow.
Rhymney/Moyston have struggled so far in A grade and will be looking to lift their intensity in this clash.
Navarre failed badly against St Andrews last round and will need to improve with the bat if they are to take the match points.
Tomorrow's C grade clash between St Andrews and Youth Club has been rescheduled and will be played at Moyston.
