Y-Zetts ensuring a healthy future

09 Feb, 2010 07:31 AM
Proceeds of fundraising events conducted by the Y-Zetts and supported by the community have enabled the group to donate $9600 to Stawell Regional Health.

The `fun' in fundraising is an obvious element of activities as members enjoy each other's company as they volunteer their time to potentially improve the health of all patients at Stawell Regional Health.

When Board Chair Karen Douglas attended the 34th Annual Y-Zetts meeting she was able to present Y-Zett members with a list of equipment required for various departments of the health service, which fitted well with member preferences, that being to spread the benefit to as many patients as possible.

Funds donated have purchased an Infusion pump, Coagumeter for Simpson Wing, a Grassby Infusion Pump for Palliative Care, Air Mattress for Macpherson Smith Nursing Home, and a Visitrack wound plotting system that may be used in the acute ward, nursing home and district nursing service.

Y-Zetts generally conduct brief business meetings at 6.30pm on the third Thursday of the month in the Board Room of the hospital, and warmly welcome any one interested in joining in to become members or simply lend a hand at any of their numerous events.

Planning for 2010 and the 35th Anniversary Year of Y-Zetts is commencing shortly.

Enquiries are welcome by calling Meg 53 588313 or Lyn 53 585655.
