Life at the Stawell Community Garden has been fairly quiet this summer with the odd working bee.
However there a group of very dedicated people who are continuing to raise the profile of the garden and are encouraging their community to get involved.
Members are having a garage sale on Saturday, February 27 at the garden at 119 Patrick Street. Entrance is via O'Regan Street.
The group is preparing for the garage sale, in conjunction with the Stawell Army Cadets. The cadets will be providing a sausage sizzle and encouraging new members to their organisation, while the garden folk will be running the sale, and of course inviting you to see where the garden is and what happens there.
Stall holders are being invited at a cost of $10 per table. For those not wanting a table but who would like to donate a couple of items, the group will gladly receive those donations.
As well as being a fundraiser the group is hoping to sign up some new plot holders at the garden. There are plots available and tools and equipment on hand for people to use.
For more information please call Helen Giles at Grampians Community Health to register a table, or to arrange items you are donating.
Phone Helen on a Tuesday or Thursday on 5358 7402 for information or to book a stall.
