These people will go in the running to be featured on the cover of next year's Yellow Pages and White Pages directory under the theme Australians Creating a Better Future.

They will emulate the feats of the current Yellow Pages and White Pages cover people, four members of the Stawell State Emergency Service Unit.

The cover features the four SES volunteers under the theme Courageous Australians. The four members, Lisa Blight, Leigh Craig, Bill Rouse and Lauren Tickner, saved the lives of two firemen trapped down separate mine shafts during the Mt Lubra bushfires in 2006.

Grampians Produce has also graced the cover in 2008/09 with the Celebrating Australian Flavour theme cover for its dedication to promoting the area as a food region and creating a network for small producers which supports various food and wine events.

Each year, Sensis recognises the achievements of local people by featuring them on the cover of its local books. For the cover of the 2011/2012 Yellow Pages and White Pages directory, Sensis is searching the Ararat, Bacchus Marsh, Ballarat, Horsham, Nhill and Stawell areas for people doing amazing things for their local community.

``We are searching for people who are going above and beyond to make their community a better place for future generations,'' Manager, White Pages, Bri Williams said.

``We want to recognise people who are thinking beyond themselves and making positive contributions from an economic, social and environmental standpoint.

``Our communities are full of people who deserve recognition for their efforts in creating a better future. Their contributions are priceless in helping to sustain vibrant local communities so we want to celebrate their achievements by putting them on the cover.''

This year's cover theme fits well with Sensis commitment to sustainability, which was demonstrated in its announcement earlier in the year that the Yellow Pages and White Pages print and online directories have been certified carbon neutral through the Australian Governments Greenhouse Friendly program.
