06 Nov, 2009 08:30 AM
StawellBiz is gearing up for a big day next Wednesday, when Main Street is closed to traffic for a Market Day.

The Market Day is coinciding with Stawell hosting the Tri State Games and with plenty of activities, combined with street stalls, StawellBiz is looking forward to attracting plenty of shoppers.

Chairman Dave Kaczynski said the activities would take place throughout Wednesday, which is a rest day for athletes competing in the Tri State Games.

Exhibitions in Main Street will be set up by the Dunmunkle Sump Oilers, Scrumlicious with gluten free foods, Grampians Regional Waste Management Group, there will be a Rotary shelterbox display, vintage car exhibition, Grampians Zoo wildlife display, bonsai tree displays and sales and Men's Shed display.

David O Jones Mitre 10 will set up a Soda Stream display and there will be a water computer irrigation system set up for people to view.

Other attractions will include a barbecue cooked by students and staff from Stawell West Primary School, fairy floss, school choirs performing, lucky dips, jumping castle, cake stall, craft display, a spinning wheel and football handball competition.

Mr Kaczynski said he looked forward to the support of traders with their stalls, as well as the general public, to make the event a success.
