Dynamic performer Marisa Quigley will entertain diners at Diamond House restaurant tomorrow evening from 8pm.
Marisa's powerful vocal style and stage presence have seen her sing at some of the largest festivals and most prestigious venues in the country.
Originally from Darwin, Marisa has been residing in Victoria for the best part of a decade where she fronts mainstays of the Australian blues scene, Chubby Rae and the Elevators.
Marisa has shared the stage with the likes of Mia Dyson, Ash Grunwald, Chris Wilson and Kerri Simpson and has been described as `possibly the blackest white woman since Janis Joplin' and `Bonnie Raitt on steroids' (she's 6-feet tall with flaming red hair).
Marisa has performed at Melbourne's prestigious Spiegel Tent, the Byron Bay East Coast Blues & Roots Festival and many of Australia's premier music festivals in New South Wales, Western Australia, Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania.
She was also awarded Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2007 Australian Blues Music Awards.
After a wealth of experience with her band and various other line-ups, Marisa is now on the road performing solo with her trusty acoustic guitar.
Her vocal influences include Bonnie Raitt, Etta James and Susan Tedeschi and her song writing influences are as diverse as Tom Waits and The Eagles.
With an eclectic blend of blues/roots, country/folk, a wink and a nudge, a tickle and a poke, her act is soulful, powerful, fun and endearing.
Marisa will perform at the Diamond House from 8pm. To book, phone 5358 3366. For more information on Marisa, visit www.myspace.com/marisaquigley.
