Launch into business success

03 Oct, 2008 08:26 AM
The Grampians Region Manufacturing Industry Group's official launch on Wednesday October 8 will provide a fantastic opportunity to network and pick up valuable business tips.

The group, which was formed by representatives from the manufacturing and industrial sector in the Grampians region, hopes to work together to address the challenges facing the sector and to capitalise on opportunities for improved business outcomes and growth.

The group's aim is to support and grow a sustainable manufacturing and industrial sector in the Grampians region through learning opportunities for group members, networking functions, problem solving and education.

Guest speakers at the launch include Jim Penman, founder of Jim's Mowing, Chris Clyne from Clyne Foods Warracknabeal and Keith Bartlett from Bartlett Blinds Ballarat.

The trio will talk about how their businesses have progressed from small beginnings to their current business success.

The men will also explore the environmental factors which affect the manufacturing industry and ways they have overcome these challenges.

From its small beginnings as a one-man business in 1982, the Jim's Group currently has more than 2200 franchisees in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, which turn over in excess of $130 million.

The official launch of the Grampians Region Manufacturing Industry Group will provide attendees with an ideal opportunity to network with other businesses in the Grampians and Pyrenees regions and share ideas.

Businesses who become members of the GRMIG on or before the official launch night go into the draw to win $500 worth of radio advertising.

Tickets cost $25 for members and $35 for non-members.

The evening in the Stawell Entertainment Centre, opens at 6.30pm with finger food and networking prior to the guest speakers making their presentations to the audience.

Tickets are selling fast and organisers are encouraging people to get in quickly to avoid missing out.

The group is grateful for the support of ANZ Bank, SED Consulting, Workco, Northern Grampians Shire Council, Greater Green Triangle, GCLLEN, ACE Radio and the Stawell Times News in getting the group up and running.

Tickets can be purchased through the Waack's Bakery stores in Ararat, Stawell and Horsham, or through Hannah Molan on 0407 533 312.
