The National Child Care Accreditation Council has completed accreditation on the Northern Grampians Shire Council Outside School Hours Care service in St Arnaud.
Consistent with results received for St Arnaud Children's Precinct and Taylors Gully Long Day care, the service has been assessed as high quality, the highest level achievable. This result is achieved by only the top service providers in the nation.
The service is assessed in seven quality areas; respect for children, staff interactions with children, partnerships with families and community, programming and evaluation, play and development, health nutrition and wellbeing, protective care and safety, and managing to support quality.
Cr Ross Clementson said the results were indicative of the high standard of childcare available in the area.
``Our childcare services continue to be recognised for their innovation and high standard of quality care. It's been a great effort by our staff to get to where we are today,'' Cr Clementson said.
All Northern Grampians Shire Council childrens services continually go through the accreditation cycle. NGSC Family Day Care has recently been assessed by the independent validator, which is the final stage of the process.
