Stawell gymnast Bella Scott recently passed her level eight test, setting a new record for the Stawell Gymnastics Club.
The 15-year-old is now only months away from gaining her level 10 certificate, the highest possible grading in the sport.
Bella received her level eight certificate at a competition in Mildura after being assessed by a panel of Melbourne judges.
During the competition Bella competed on four apparatus while judges graded her on her execution of various elements.
She passed the level with flying colours, capping off a successful competition by taking out second place in the individual overall category.
It was a fantastic achievement for the Stawell Secondary College student who trains seven and a half hours a week and also helps to coach the club's junior gymnasts.
Next month Bella will have the opportunity to gain her level nine certificate when she competes in another state-wide competition.
Bella's mother Lynne Scott said her daughter's ultimate goal was to pass level 10.
``I think it's something that all gymnasts aim towards,'' she said.
``She will train all next year for her level 10 and then get the opportunity to go for it late in the year.''
Bella has been involved in gymnastics for nine years and is extremely passionate about the sport.
She puts a significant amount of time and effort into training and is also hoping to become a fully qualified coach next year.
Fellow Stawell Gymnastic Club members Lauren and Anna Knights look set to follow in Bella's footsteps, with both girls aiming to pass level seven in the coming months.
