Apex celebrates fundraiser

16 Aug, 2011 12:00 AM
Stawell - Apex Club of Stawell has celebrated the success of a major fundraising raffle.

The raffle was conducted over the past two months, with tickets being sold at the past two Stawell SES markets. First prize in the raffle was a tandem trailer load of redgum firewood.

Apexian Ricky Bowen said the raffle was conducted to raise funds for Apex, to enable it to continue assisting various community projects.

"We will be using the proceeds from the raffle to help out where we can in the community," he said.

"The raffle was a success. We sold a lot of tickets at the markets and will have some extra money now to assist with these community projects."

The winner of the trailer load of wood was Debbie Delzotto of Great Western.

Apexians cut and carted the wood themselves and then delivered and unloaded it for Mrs Delzotto.
